When it comes to Emporium, you think of high end mall with brand-name European and other international hang bags, etc. In fact, there is a department store in the middle of the mall. Emporium is near Phrom Phong station. You cannot even find a big department store in Thonglor station (next to Phrom Phong).
Emporium department store and shopping mall has completed renovation in early 2015. It is new and different now. They have kept some of the international brands but add some more eateries including Benz Café, Another Hound restaurant. Another Hound is an upgrade of Grey Hound.
The setting of the department store is different from before. The basement is women’s secret garden selling ladies underwear. Women will not be embarrassed anymore. The ground floor used to sell cosmetics and skincare products. Now, they sell handbags, mainly women’s ones. First floor, sells women’s shoes and clothes. Men’s clothes are upstairs. Then it is children and toys area. The top floor sells home products and beddings.
It is worth mentioning that there were two food courts in the past, now there is only one where food is medium priced. They have well-known small restaurants serving barbequed pork, Hainanese chicken rice, etc. A supermarket, cooked food stalls, grocery shop and a small Thai food market are on the same level too. You can see loads of varieties of food here.
Basically the whole concept is like a smaller version of Siam Paragon department store. If you are going to buy a bottle of shampoo in Siam Paragon, it will take you 10 minutes. At Emporium, it takes only 5 minutes.
There is a cinema which has been renovated too. Customers now can have something to eat at VIP lounge before entering the theatre.
Thailand Creative Design Center is on the other side. Visitors can register and go inside to read books, do revision and work as well. The environment is quite nice.
Although you can see many department stores in Bangkok, there is even one opposite to Emporium called Emquartier, Emporium actually has the most diversity of things.
